JioStar has announced the appointment of Bhaskar Ramesh as Head of Entertainment Sales, Digital, strengthening its push towards building a data-driven advertising ecosystem across its streaming and digital entertainment portfolio.
Bhaskar joins JioStar from Google, where he most recently served as Director – Omnichannel Businesses and was a core member of the company’s India leadership team. During his tenure, he drove strategic partnerships across sectors including Technology, Retail, Finance, Consumer Packaged Goods and Automotive, while leading digital transformation initiatives spanning traditional and digital channels.
In his new role, Bhaskar will report to Kevin Vaz, CEO, Entertainment, JioStar. He will be responsible for developing a modern, data-led advertising framework focused on delivering measurable outcomes for brands, unlocking new revenue streams, strengthening advertiser partnerships, and integrating content, technology and sales into a unified commercial model.

At Google, Bhaskar played a key role in shaping YouTube India’s business growth, leading its monetisation and product strategy. He helped scale the platform into a multi-billion-dollar business while addressing ecosystem challenges across planning, pricing and measurement. He has also advised leading Indian brands and CXOs on digital growth and transformation, and represented India on global strategy forums.
Prior to Google, Bhaskar built experience across the CPG and Media & Entertainment sectors, holding leadership roles at Godrej, Marico and Reliance Broadcast Network, where he managed P&L, brand building, operations and business development. He holds a postgraduate diploma in Management from the SP Jain Institute of Management & Research.
With this appointment, JioStar signals a sharper focus on digital monetisation and performance-driven advertising as competition intensifies in India’s streaming ecosystem.
