Selena Gomez isn't letting the global pandemic stop her from releasing new music.
The singing sensation just dropped an innovative video. Gomez teamed up with Trevor Daniel and dropped the stunning visual for their collaboration, Past Life. The music video, which released on Tuesday, July 14, shows the artists practising social distancing on Instagram Live amidst the continued Coronavirus pandemic. Fans are then taken on a stunning journey of varied landscapes round the world.
Directed by Grammy-nominated filmmaking team Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, the clip starts out simple enough, with Gomez and Daniel singing to each other over Instagram Live. But things quickly turn weird when the camera zooms in on Gomez’s screen and enters a surrealistic CGI world, shots of water, the mountains, the desert and more, via her pores and hair.
The music video takes us to determine the nature that we are missing amid the lockdown, the concept was very different and inventive. Selena and Trevor’s voice complement each other’s so well.
Daniel previously released his track, Past Life, in March, but Gomez later joined him for a remix of the song.
Selena recently shared with Daniel what quantity the song resonated together with her via an Instagram live chat.
"When I heard the song the first time, I loved the fact that it was kind of like a story about all the things that we tend to hold onto and the patterns that we have," the 27-year-old star said. "And I'm very, very vocal about my personal experiences, you know, making decisions that maybe aren't necessarily healthy for me," the Rare singer revealed.
