ShowCase Events,The Eagle (ISA 40:31) And The Rabab Academy Unite For A Historic 'Fankar-e-Kashmir' Music Contest Fest

We are delighted to announce the first edition of Fankar-E-Kashmir on October 26th, 2024 at the  Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Center (SKICC), Srinagar, which is known for investing in the  preservation of and culture of Kashmir. Sponsored and supported by Bingo Tedhe Medhe, Voltas  Beko & Jammu Kashmir Academy of , Culture and Languages. 

Post our experience in conducting a folk competition called Koshur Funkar in Bandipora last  year we sensed the need to do more for the , young musicians and creators in Kashmir.  To create an awareness in the creators on how to make themselves and their forms  sustainable in a way to grow their own and the state’s creative economy. We intend to conduct this  event annually and gradually grow it by bringing in more exposure and opportunities for the  talented youth of Kashmir. 

Event Highlights: 

-Workshops with IPRS & Dolby to help artists understand how to protect and monetise their  work and how to better their recordings with usage of good sound technology. ? Live Talent hunt contest. 

-Live jury of eminent artists and experts. 

-Winners awards and Grand finale performance. 

-Winners to get more opportunities. 

-Intent is to promote Kashmir’s intangible cultural heritage and promote the youth of  Kashmir. 

-Event will start with workshops from 10am onwards. 

-Interspersed with live performances by the very talented Begun Jaan (Gojri ), Masrat Naz  (Pahadi ) and Shazia Hamid (Kashmiri ) 

-Kashmiri folk dancers to welcome the guests. 

-Talent hunt contest will be from 4.00pm-7.00pm followed by the Finale performance by a  renowned artist.

In our eminent jury we have legends of Kashmir: Gulzar Ganaie, Ustad Abdul Rashid Hafiz,  Noor Mohammad. 

This event is curated and organised by ShowCase Events, The and The Rabab Academy. All  three being industry veterans dedicated to saving and actively promoting India’s dying folk .
