HARMAN, a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. focused on connected technologies for automotive, consumer and enterprise markets, organised a musical evening in keeping with its annual tradition of celebrating World Music Day that is observed on June 21 every year. Popularly called 'Make Music Day', this day marks the importance of music in everyone's life.
HARMAN’s Senior Leadership Committee- Michael Mauser, CEO & President, John Stacey, CHRO, Harry Andersson, Chief of Staff and Darrin Shewchuk, VP - Corporate Affairs and Communications visited India to celebrate Make Music Day with HARMAN India.
Recipient of Padma Bhushan, winner of six National film awards, two academy and Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, fifteen Filmfare Awards and seventeen Filmfare Awards South winner and JBL’s ambassador- Dr. A. R. Rahman honoured the audience with his presence as the chief guest for the event. This year also marks Dr. A. R. Rahman’s decade long brand association with HARMAN. Rahman has been the Indian Brand Ambassador for JBL by HARMAN since 2011.
Along with Dr. A. R. Rahman the event was also attended by Ricky Kej, a multi-Grammy Award-winning Indian music composer and environmentalist.
Bengaluru-based rock band- Thermal and A Quarter and the multilingual indie-folk alternative band- When Chai Met Toast performed and enthralled close to 1,500 employees of HARMAN India’s Bengaluru office. The event also witnessed performances by HARMAN India’s in-house bands from the Automotive and Digital Transformation Solutions business units. The event was emceed by RJ Rakesh, the renowned radio jockey who made the evening even more lively and weaved the entire musical experience beautifully.
