Apple and Spotify is an interesting context. “Last year in 2018, Apple music had 57 million subscribers. In India Spotify, the leader in music OTT worldwide came late to India but has made a significant place in the country”, stated Batra. One more advancement that has taken in the music space is the smart speaker growth. There has been a boost in the Amazon Echo system. Batra said, "This technology is an advantage for musicians and music players.” However, Music charts as of 2019 have become lesser relevant. Major labels may lose their model in 2019. Indie artists are gaining more prominence says, Batra. Batra also stated that Streaming services are not that profitable. “Streaming services are becoming a major part of the music ecosystem. These platforms find it very difficult to be a market profitable service”, remarked Batra. “The article 30, came out with a new ruling which holds streaming platforms are responsible for the files the user uploads. With YouTube and other streaming platforms are making artist generate a good revenue”, says Batra. Social media is a great way for an artist to build fan engagement. Anurag stated, “The only way the artist can leverage from this is moving to the latest trending platforms. Instagram creates a wide revenue for the artist. Even Tick Tock believes they can build up artist and it is changing the music industry." Also, No matter what culture you come from everyone loves music. Batra concluded with a good anecdote, “If music is a place, Ghazal is a city, pop is a wilderness, rock is a road and classical is a temple. I wish you two days of melody, learning and business.”
