Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has appointed Soraib el Jelali as its new Head of A&R for the Benelux region, strengthening the publisher’s commitment to talent development and songwriter growth across the market.
Based at Warner Music Group’s Amsterdam office, el Jelali will oversee A&R strategy for Warner Chappell Music Benelux, focusing on discovering and nurturing local songwriting and production talent while creating new opportunities for international collaboration. He will report to Niels Walboomers, President, Publishing Benelux and Recorded Music Central Europe at Warner Music Group.
In his new role, el Jelali will be responsible for expanding Warner Chappell’s domestic roster and fostering cross-border creative partnerships that connect Benelux-based songwriters and producers with global talent.
The appointment marks a return to music publishing for el Jelali, who joined Warner Music Group in 2023 as Head of A&R at Atlantic Records Benelux. Prior to that, he held A&R positions at Sony Music Publishing and Trifecta, building a reputation for identifying and developing emerging talent.
During his tenure at Atlantic Records Benelux, el Jelali played an instrumental role in the success of several artists, including Antoon, Kaya Imani, SMIB, Trobi and Diamond-certified singer Roxy Dekker.
Commenting on his appointment, el Jelali said he was grateful for the opportunity and excited to return to the publishing side of the business.
“I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank Niels Walboomers and Guy Moot for their trust and belief in me. I’m very excited to return to the world of publishing and look forward to working with Warner Chappell’s exceptional roster and talented A&R team. Together, we will continue creating meaningful opportunities and successes for our songwriters,” he said.
Welcoming the appointment, Walboomers praised el Jelali’s creative instincts and deep understanding of the regional music landscape.
“Soraib combines a strong creative vision with an intuitive understanding of the Benelux music market and a proven track record of developing talent. I have every confidence that he is the right person to lead our A&R strategy and help unlock new opportunities for our songwriters,” Walboomers said.
The appointment reflects Warner Chappell Music’s continued focus on investing in local talent while strengthening connections between regional creators and the global music industry.
