Tamil Nadu Government Music College Invites Applications For Music And Dance Programmes

Applications have opened for various music and dance programmes at Tamil Nadu Government Music College in Coimbatore for the upcoming academic session.

District Collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar announced that application forms are being issued for undergraduate degree, diploma, teacher training, and evening certificate courses in music and dance.

Candidates who have completed Class XII can apply for the three-year undergraduate degree and diploma programmes in vocal music, veena, violin, and bharatanatyam. The college has stated that there is no age limit for these programmes.

Diploma courses are also available in vocal music, veena, violin, bharatanatyam, nadaswaram, and thavil for candidates who have passed Class X. Applicants for these courses must be between 16 and 30 years of age.

For the one-year music teacher training programme, candidates should have passed Class X and possess either a BA in Music degree or an Isai Kalaimani diploma. The age eligibility for this course is between 16 and 35 years.

The evening music college will offer two-year certificate programmes in vocal music, veena, and violin. Applicants must have passed Class X, while candidates above 17 years of age can apply without any upper age restriction.

The annual fee structure has been fixed at Rs 3,904 for BA Music courses, Rs 1,530 for diploma and music teacher training programmes, and Rs 1,383 for evening certificate courses. Students enrolled in the programmes will also receive a monthly educational incentive of Rs 1,500 along with a free bus pass.
