Music Nova Signs Global Publishing Deal With Universal Music Publishing India

Music Nova has entered into a strategic publishing partnership with Universal Music Publishing India (UMPI), part of Universal Music Publishing Group, to expand the global reach of its catalogue.

Under the agreement, UMPI will administer Music Nova’s publishing rights worldwide, covering licensing, royalty collection, and synchronization opportunities across film, television, OTT platforms, and advertising. The collaboration aims to combine UMPI’s global publishing infrastructure with Music Nova’s growing catalogue to drive stronger monetisation and international exposure.

The partnership reflects a broader industry trend of integrating regional and devotional music into global publishing ecosystems. With the rise of streaming, short-form video, and OTT platforms, demand for culturally rooted content, particularly regional and spiritual music, has seen significant growth across global and diaspora audiences.

Music Nova’s catalogue spans multiple genres including regional, devotional, spiritual, and fusion music, with content across eight languages. This positions the label for expanded licensing opportunities across media formats and international markets.

Commenting on the development, Dhiraj Advani, Partner at Media Nova, said the partnership marks a key step in scaling the global footprint of the label’s music and maximising opportunities for its artists and compositions.

The deal is expected to unlock new revenue streams while strengthening the presence of Indian regional and spiritual music on the global stage.
