Lenskart has launched Shunya, a new music-inspired eyewear collection under Indian Accents, its family of collections celebrating Indian culture and heritage. To mark the launch, the brand is bringing together 10 artists for five evenings of live performances as part of Lenskart Live: Sounds of Shunya, streaming exclusively on the Lenskart app from October 8 to 12, between 7 pm and 8 pm.
The initiative also marks the launch of Lenskart Live, a new format aimed at bringing the stories and cultural inspirations behind the brand’s collections to life through experiences for consumers.
Inspired by Indian music, Shunya explores the idea of zero or shunya as a meditative space from which sound and creation emerge. The collection translates elements of Indian musical traditions, instruments and cultural motifs into contemporary eyewear.
The collection features 37 styles across eyeglasses and sunglasses, incorporating design elements inspired by instruments and motifs such as the sitar, flute and lotus. The collection is available across Lenskart stores and on the Lenskart app ahead of the festive season.
“Indian music has an incredible ability to evolve while staying connected to its roots. We see that today in the way a new generation is experiencing everything from bhajans and classical music to contemporary interpretations of traditional sounds. Shunya draws from that same spirit, translating elements of Indian music into contemporary eyewear. With Lenskart Live, we want to take the stories behind our collections beyond the frames and create experiences that people can participate in and enjoy,” said a Lenskart spokesperson.
