Leilah Z. Appointed Country Manager At TuneCore India

TuneCore has appointed Leilah Z. as Country Manager, TuneCore India, marking a new leadership phase for the digital music distribution platform in one of the world’s fastest-growing music markets.

Announcing the development on LinkedIn, Leilah said her focus in the new role would be to better serve artists and their teams while helping TuneCore evolve alongside the changing dynamics of India’s music industry.

“Music in this country doesn’t move in one direction; it moves across genres, regions, and languages,” she wrote, adding that she hopes to create more room for diverse genres, languages, gender representation, and underserved territories within the industry.

Leilah, who comes from a small town in Assam, reflected on her journey through various parts of the music business and said the experience had deepened her understanding of what artists need from the industry. She described her appointment as an opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, independent artist growth, and inclusivity.

As an example of the direction TuneCore India aims to pursue, she highlighted the recent success of independent artist Arivu, who will represent India at AXEAN Festival 2026 in Bali after winning the TuneCore India Showcase.

She also thanked Akhila Shankar, Cyrus C., and Vivek Raina for the opportunity and for fostering an inclusive work environment. Leilah said she hopes to continue building pathways that reflect the full diversity of India’s music ecosystem.

The appointment comes at a time when India’s independent music sector is expanding rapidly, with streaming, regional music consumption, and global discovery creating new opportunities for artists beyond traditional industry structures.
