IGI Airport Launches ‘DEL Vibes’ Featuring Live Indian Music And Dance For Flyers

Travellers at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport now have a new reason to linger, not just for flights, but for flamenco-free moments of Indian tradition. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has launched DEL Vibes, a cultural initiative aimed at offering passengers a vibrant taste of India’s artistic heritage while they wait to board.

The experience, which kicked off on Monday, features live Indian classical dance performances, instrumental music sessions, and interactive craft workshops, running daily from 10 AM to 6 PM across all terminals.

Expect to witness graceful renditions of Kathak and Bharatanatyam, accompanied by soul-stirring melodies from instruments like the sitar, santoor, sarangi, and tar shehnai. In between performances, travellers can try their hand at traditional crafts in short hands-on sessions led by local artisans. Each segment lasts 10–25 minutes, with emcees facilitating smooth transitions and active passenger engagement.

According to DIAL, the initiative was designed not only to showcase India’s cultural richness but also to help reduce travel-related stress, especially for first-time flyers. By turning the airport into a calm, creative, and immersive environment, DEL Vibes seeks to transform wait times into moments of discovery.

“This is our way of giving every traveller a piece of India’s cultural richness, even before they leave the airport,” said Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of DIAL. “Our aim is to reimagine IGI Airport as more than just a transit point,it's a cultural destination in itself.”

This isn’t IGI’s first brush with the arts. Over the years, the airport has become known for its visual storytelling—from the striking mudra-inspired sculptures at Terminal 3 to the monumental Surya Namaskar statue. Murals, installations, and curated exhibitions by renowned Indian artists continue to offer passengers a visual introduction to India from the moment they arrive.

With DEL Vibes, Delhi Airport reinforces its commitment to blending travel with tradition, ensuring that every journey begins with a celebration of India’s timeless artistry.
