Ayushmann Khurrana Pays Musical Tribute To Asha Bhosle With Punjabi Classic

Actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana paid a heartfelt tribute to legendary playback icon Asha Bhosle by performing one of her lesser-known Punjabi songs, days after her passing.

Khurrana took to Instagram to share a video of himself singing ‘Das Mereya Dilbara’, originally rendered by Bhosle alongside Mohammed Rafi. Accompanying himself on the guitar, the actor delivered an intimate, stripped-down rendition that highlighted the timeless quality of the composition.

In his caption, Khurrana described the track as one of his favourite underrated Punjabi gems, adding that he grew up listening to Bhosle’s voice and believes it will continue to resonate across generations.

Asha Bhosle, one of Indian music’s most celebrated voices, passed away on April 12 at the age of 92, prompting an outpouring of tributes from across the industry and beyond.

Widely regarded for her versatility, Bhosle recorded thousands of songs across multiple languages over a career spanning more than eight decades, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence generations of artists.

Khurrana’s tribute adds to a growing list of artists honouring the late singer, using music as a means to celebrate her enduring impact on Indian cultural and musical history.
