AR Rahman: Ilaiyaraaja has composed music for Firdaus Orchestra

On September 1, music composers AR Rahman and Illaiyaraaja met at the Chennai International Airport as they returned from abroad. The image of the two major music maestro and Mozart took the internet by storm. Earlier, in March 2022, AR Rahman revealed that he will be working together with Illaiyaraaja soon. He then shared a photo of him with the maestro from his new studio in Dubai with the Firdaus Orchestra.

Reportedly the Oscar Award musician requested Illaiyaraaja to compose music for his Firdaus orchestra to play. On September 2, AR Rahman speaking at ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ audio launch stated that Illaiyaraaja has considered his request well and has already composed music for the Firdaus Orchestra. He also revealed that the recording for the same will take place soon.
This is the first time that these two major Indian musicians will be seen working together. On the professional front, Ilaiyaraaja completed work for his 1,417 th film and AR Rahman will have his ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ audio launch on September 6 in Chennai.
