After more than two decades in the music industry, composer, producer, singer and background score director Abhijit Vaghani is entering one of the busiest phases of his career, balancing major music projects with a new initiative aimed at nurturing the next generation of music creators.
Known for his work across more than 300 hit songs and over 90 films, Vaghani has contributed to projects including Dhoom 3, Desi Boyz and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. His work has collectively garnered over 7.6 billion digital views, including 4.2 billion views from the popular T-Series Mixtape series and an additional 3.4 billion views on YouTube.
Among his upcoming projects is Cocktail 2, for which he has produced tracks including Jab Talak. He is also returning to the T-Series Mixtape franchise, a format he helped shape into one of India's most successful music properties. Alongside these, Vaghani is currently working on several other projects, making 2026 a significant year in his professional journey.
Beyond his creative pursuits, Vaghani is also focusing on music education with the launch of The Song Writing And Music Production Academy (SWAMP Academy), scheduled to open in Mumbai in September 2026.
The academy aims to provide aspiring songwriters, producers and musicians with industry-focused training, mentorship and networking opportunities. According to Vaghani, the initiative is designed to bridge the gap between talent and access within India's growing music ecosystem.
SWAMP Academy will be supported by an advisory board comprising several leading figures from the Indian music industry, including Pritam Chakraborty, Shekhar Ravjiani, Salim Merchant, Sulaiman Merchant, Harshdeep Kaur, Ash King, Amaal Malik and Armaan Malik, among others.
The academy's founders say students will benefit from direct access to the expertise and insights of established industry professionals across songwriting, music production, recording and performance.
Applications for the inaugural Founder's Batch are now open.
With a packed creative slate and a new educational venture on the horizon, Vaghani is looking to build on a career that has already left a significant mark on India's music and film industries while helping shape the talent pipeline for the future.
