Sunburn Festival 2025 Kicks Off Mumbai Debut With Power-Packed Opening Day

Sunburn Festival 2025 opened its much-awaited Mumbai edition at Infinity Bay, Sewri, on a high note, with Day 1 setting the tone for the three-day electronic music spectacle. Festival-goers began pouring into the venue early in the day, a mix of long-time Sunburn loyalists and first-time attendees, creating an atmosphere charged with anticipation and excitement.

The day unfolded gradually across multiple stages, with sets by artists including Nirvaan, Ana Lilia, Mathame, Richie Hawtin and Houdini, each adding their distinct sonic identity to the evolving energy of the festival. Between performances, attendees explored the immersive arcade zone, sampled offerings from the curated food district, browsed the flea market and took in the scale of Sunburn’s Mumbai debut.

A major highlight of this edition is Beyond Infinity, a new mainstage concept that marked a creative leap for the festival. Spanning nearly 15,000 sq. ft. of LED, the towering structure served as a dynamic visual centrepiece, transforming in real time with the music and redefining the sensory scale of electronic music festivals in India.

The defining moment of Day 1 came with the headline set by techno artist Sara Landry, who made her India debut at the festival. Taking over the Beyond Infinity stage, Landry delivered a dark, high-intensity set that drew the crowd into a relentless techno journey. Her commanding presence, thunderous basslines and sharp, driving percussion kept the energy unbroken throughout the performance.

Tracks such as Girlboss, Pressure, Play With Me, Heaven and Legacy were delivered through exclusive edits and tightly executed transitions, with each drop met by roaring reactions from the audience. The synchronised visuals, lighting and sound design turned the mainstage into an immersive arena, making Landry’s debut one of the most talked-about moments of Sunburn Festival 2025 so far.

This year’s festival also saw an elevated food and beverage experience, with curated menus, gourmet pop-ups, artisanal food brands and signature cocktail bars designed to complement the scale of the event.

Beyond the music, Sunburn Festival 2025 positioned itself as a multi-sensory experience. Attendees explored handcrafted finds at the flea market, recharged at dedicated chill-out zones and massage lounges, and engaged with the festival’s expanded gaming zone featuring state-of-the-art arcade setups. The gaming arenas remained active throughout the day with live gameplay, casual matches and creator-led interactions, offering fans a space to connect and unwind between sets.

With Sara Landry’s powerful headline performance, Sunburn Festival 2025 reaffirmed its status as a cultural tastemaker, continuing to shape and redefine India’s live electronic music landscape.

As Day 1 drew to a close, the energy across Infinity Bay made it clear that the festival was only just getting started. With David Guetta set to headline Day 2, followed by Axwell and Above & Beyond closing the festival on Day 3, Sunburn Festival 2025 is poised for an even bigger crescendo in the days ahead.
