Grand musical play on Ambedkar's life to be screened in Delhi from tomorrow

'Babasaheb: The Grand Musical', a play on the life of the father of the Indian Constitution, BR Ambedkar, is all set to be screened in Delhi on February 25.

The Mega show, which will run till March 12 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, will have two shows a day, with the first show starting at 4 PM and the second show at 7 PM every day.

Notably, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had decided to organize the show on Mahaparinirvan Divas and the play was earlier scheduled to start on January 5. However, it was postponed due to the third wave of Covid-19.

Stage set for the grand musical

With a 100-foot stage and a 40-foot revolving platform on top of that, dozens of LED screens, digital props, the great and inspirational life of Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar will be depicted through a grand musical play which will be a treat to the audience. Over 160 dancers, performers and Delhi-based artists will light up the stage.

While the play is directed by theatre artist Mahua Chauhan, renowned artist Rohit Roy will play the role of Bhimrao Ambedkar. Meanwhile, the Indian Ocean has contributed to the music of the play.

Considered one of the biggest shows, several AAP leaders took stock of the preparations at the JLN stadium before the release of the show.

How to book your tickets?

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has announced that the grand musical show will be absolutely free for the general public. However, tickets for the mega show will have to be booked in advance.
