GIGX Live has announced the debut India tour of globally recognised sitarist and vocalist Ronobir Lahiri, set for February 2026. Based in Los Angeles, Lahiri has developed a unique sound that fuses the sitar with modern tracks and his own vocals, blending Indian classical technique with electronic, ambient, and pop-infused textures to create a contemporary musical experience.
The upcoming tour marks Ronobir’s first multi-city concert journey in India and a meaningful return to the country where his 30-year musical journey began in Kolkata under Sri Deepak Choudhuri, a direct disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar. Over the years, Lahiri has performed at prestigious international venues, including the Hollywood Bowl, and collaborated with global artists such as Katy Perry, contributing to “Legendary Lovers” from her Grammy-nominated album Prism and Ziggy Marley, notably on the track “Sunshine” from Fly Rasta.
His innovative projects, including Hypnosis: Deep House Sitar and Redemption Sitar, alongside viral reinterpretations of classics like Still D.R.E. and Redemption Song, have earned him a dedicated international following drawn to his fresh, accessible approach to music.
Speaking ahead of the tour, Ronobir Lahiri said,“Returning to India for my first-ever tour with GIGX Live is an incredibly meaningful milestone in my journey. This is where my musical path began, and I am thrilled to perform live across multiple cities, connect with audiences, and share the energy with my music.”
The India tour will kick off with four cities: Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Goa, with additional locations to be announced. Each performance promises to showcase Ronobir’s signature style, blending classical tradition, sitar, vocals, and contemporary sounds to offer audiences a truly modern musical experience.
