Bipin R. Pandit’s Khumaar Marks 20th Anniversary With Special Musical Night In Mumbai

Bipin R. Pandit’s Khumaar musical night is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary with a special edition on September 4 at the Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Auditorium in Mumbai. The annual event, which has built a platform for Hindi music and emerging singers, will begin at 5:15 PM.

Over the past 19 years, Khumaar has been staged across Mumbai, Baroda and Indore, with performers chosen through a year-long talent scouting process. The 20th anniversary edition will feature six singers, including one each from Pune and Nashik-Malegaon and four from Mumbai.

Reflecting on the milestone, Bipin R. Pandit, Founder of Khumaar, said, “Khumaar has become a brand over the last 19 years. Every year, our endeavour has been to present quality music to our audience in an innovative and creative manner. This year, as we celebrate 20 glorious years, I promise to present Khumaar in a completely different and unique format.”

A key highlight of this year’s edition will be the introduction of the Mohammad Rafi Award, instituted to honour individuals who have contributed to preserving and carrying forward the legacy of legendary singer Mohammad Rafi.

The inaugural Mohammad Rafi Award was presented in 2025 to late singer Mahendra Kapoor, one of Rafi’s prominent disciples.

The anniversary edition is also expected to bring together audiences and professionals from the advertising, media, marketing, PR and research sectors, adding an industry dimension to the evening’s celebration of Hindi music and emerging talent.
