SUR Music Announces New Three-Song Collaboration Between Rajeev Mahavir And Javed Ali

SUR Music has announced a new three-song collaboration between composer-producer Rajeev Mahavir and acclaimed playback singer Javed Ali, marking the duo’s third creative partnership.

The project, to be released under the SUR Music banner, will feature three original compositions written and composed by Mahavir. The collection will span multiple musical styles, including a romantic ballad, a thumri and a tappa, blending Indian classical traditions with contemporary international influences.

According to the label, the collaboration aims to showcase diverse musical expressions while presenting Indian-rooted compositions through a modern global lens. The songs are expected to combine emotional storytelling, melodic depth and cross-cultural production aesthetics.

Speaking about the project, SUR Music said the collaboration reflects a shared vision of creating music that honours Indian musical heritage while appealing to audiences worldwide.

“This project represents a special creative journey between Rajeev Mahavir and Javed Ali. From romance to classical expression, each composition has its own distinct identity while remaining rooted in Indian traditions and contemporary presentation,” the company said.

The project is currently being recorded in Mumbai, with release dates and accompanying music video plans expected to be announced in the coming months.
