Shah Rukh Khan marked his 61st birthday on November 2 with the release of ‘Tu Mil Jaaye’, the first song from his upcoming film King. The track brings together Arijit Singh, British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and Madhubanti Bagchi, marking an international musical collaboration.
Composed by Sachin-Jigar, the romantic track features Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, reuniting the duo on screen. While Arijit Singh and Madhubanti Bagchi lend their vocals, Sheeran has contributed an English rap segment to the song. The lyrics have been penned by Kumaar.
The music video opens with an intense dialogue by Shah Rukh Khan before transitioning into a romantic dance sequence featuring the lead pair. Set against beachside locations and grand visuals, the song also offers glimpses of the film's action sequences, hinting at the contrasting elements of romance and intensity in the storyline.
The release has generated considerable audience interest, with the music video crossing two million views on YouTube, according to ThePrint. The collaboration between Arijit Singh and Ed Sheeran has also emerged as a talking point among fans.
The song's choreography has been handled by Piyush-Shazia, while Sachin-Jigar have composed the music.
Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, King features an ensemble cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi and Abhay Verma, among others.
The film marks Shah Rukh Khan's reunion with Pathaan director Siddharth Anand and is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
