Spotify RAP91 LIVE Returns For Fifth Edition, Celebrating Indian Hip-Hop

Spotify’s RAP91 LIVE is returning for its fifth edition, bringing together artists from across India’s hip-hop landscape. The event will take place in Mumbai on October 24 and will be available exclusively as a Spotify Premium experience for subscribers.

RAP91, Spotify’s flagship Indian hip-hop playlist, has become a platform for discovering artists and sounds from across the country. Over the past five years, RAP91 LIVE has featured more than 130 artists from over 25 cities and regions, with performances spanning more than 15 languages.

This year’s edition will feature artists performing across nine languages, including DIVINE, Arivu, Panther, Real Boss, Hammy Muzic, Rocksun, Iqbal, OtaaL, Rawme Hooda, Hardbone Boy, Bhaktaaa, Prathamesh, Anohnymouss, STIC, Siroyi, Bhadrankar, VENGAYO, Gamak Sinha, Jelo, Saniya MQ, ARUN YDV, Arinar Black and JaiKishan.

The live property mirrors RAP91’s focus on bringing together hip-hop voices from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

The flagship RAP91 playlist has grown by more than 36% over the past two years and currently has over 470,000 followers. Spotify’s Indian hip-hop ecosystem also includes seven language-specific RAP91 playlists covering Hindi, Punjabi, Malayalam, Haryanvi, Tamil, Marathi and Bhojpuri.

The regional playlists have also recorded growth over the past year. RAP91 Marathi has grown by more than 155%, while RAP91 Bhojpuri and RAP91 Haryanvi have grown by over 52% and 23%, respectively. Collectively, the seven language-specific RAP91 playlists have more than 1.5 million followers.

With RAP91 LIVE, Spotify continues to extend its playlist ecosystem into live experiences, giving artists across India’s regional hip-hop scenes a platform to reach audiences beyond streaming.
