Saregama Shares Jump 13% As Music And Live Events Drive Q2 FY27 Growth

Saregama India shares surged 13.3% on November 4, closing at around Rs 637 apiece, after the music company reported better-than-expected financial results for the second quarter of FY27. The strong performance was driven by growth in its Music and Live Events businesses.

The company reported a 46.4% year-on-year (YoY) increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 64.17 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. Revenue from operations rose 36.63% YoY to Rs 314.30 crore, compared with Rs 230 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Saregama's Music business, which includes music licensing, artiste management and retail, recorded revenue of Rs 251.3 crore, marking a 35% YoY growth during the quarter.

Its Live Events business emerged as another key growth driver, with revenue more than doubling to Rs 44.7 crore, registering a 101% YoY increase. The segment includes concerts, devotional events, stand-up comedy and other experiential entertainment formats. The growth was supported by an increase in the number of events during the quarter.

However, the company's Video business, which spans films, television, digital series and short-format content, reported revenue of Rs 18.3 crore, down 16% YoY.

Music catalogue and artiste roster expansion

During the September quarter, Saregama released more than 650 film and non-film tracks across multiple languages, including Hindi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

The company also added 54 artistes to its roster, taking the total count to 340 artistes, with an aggregate digital reach of over 450 million.

On the brand partnerships front, Saregama collaborated with companies including Google, Cadbury, Apple, Tanishq and Reliance for integrated campaigns, leveraging its music intellectual property (IP) to drive audience engagement.

Its music catalogue also featured in several entertainment projects during the quarter, including the Hindi film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Tamil film DC and Mess, produced by HRX Films.

Commenting on the performance, Avarna Jain, Vice Chairperson of Saregama India, said the company continued to build on its growth momentum, supported by the Music business and its expanding presence across Live Events and other entertainment formats.

She added that the company remains focused on maximising the value of its intellectual property through multiple monetisation avenues while maintaining financial discipline and investing in opportunities that support long-term growth.

Saregama shares gain 81% in 2026

The latest earnings-led rally has added to Saregama's strong performance in the stock market this year. The company's shares have gained around 30% since October 26, marking one of their strongest upward movements in recent months.

With the latest surge, the stock's gains in 2026 have reached approximately 81%, reversing its 24% decline in 2025.

If the stock sustains its gains through the end of the year, it could mark its strongest annual performance since 2021, when Saregama shares rallied 522%.
