AI music company Suno has strengthened its artist relations efforts with the appointment of Sam Berger as Senior Director of Artist Partnerships, a move aimed at deepening collaboration between creators and the rapidly evolving AI music platform.
Berger , who previously led music strategy at Patreon and built out the music team at livestreaming platform Moment House , will report directly to Suno’s Chief Music Officer, Paul Sinclair. His role will focus on developing strategic partnerships with artists, managers and creative teams, exploring how artificial intelligence can support modern music creation in ways that align with artists’ needs.
Before his tenure at Patreon, Berger also worked on Spotify’s global artist and label partnerships team and spent time in artist management, giving him a broad base of experience across the music industry’s commercial and creative sectors.
In announcing the appointment, Sinclair described Berger as “one of the most respected artist and label partners in the industry,” noting that his track record includes shepherding artists through new technology and creating experiences that deepen connections between artists and fans. Berger himself said that the opportunity comes at “a critical point in time where the future of music is being actively shaped,” and emphasized the importance of building trust with industry partners.
Berger joins a broader artist partnerships team at Suno that includes executives with experience at companies such as Snap, 88rising, Spotify, Twitch, Splice, and major record labels , reflecting the company’s push to integrate more closely with the traditional music business ecosystem.
The hire comes weeks after Suno struck a landmark licensing deal with Warner Music Group (WMG), settling WMG’s portion of a high?profile copyright dispute and allowing artists and songwriters the option to have their names, voices and compositions used in AI?generated music under agreed terms. Under that agreement, Suno plans to launch new licensed music?making models in 2026, along with other platform updates.
Industry observers see Suno’s talent acquisition and licensing progress as part of a broader strategy to position itself as a pro?artist AI music platform , one that balances innovation in music creation with respect for rights holders and meaningful collaboration with creators.
Berger’s appointment signals Suno’s intent to invest in sustained industry engagement as it navigates the intersection of technology and music , a space increasingly shaped by both innovation and ongoing debates around copyright, compensation and creative control.
