MYFANDOM, positioned as India’s first direct-to-fan ecosystem, has unveiled its inaugural India Fandom Report, offering a comprehensive look at the rapid growth of fandom-driven culture and commerce across the country in 2025.
Known for powering fan engagement through official merchandise and immersive experiences for over 100 international artists and brands, MYFANDOM’s latest report maps the evolving dynamics of fan communities and their increasing influence on entertainment, consumer behaviour, and economic trends.
Marking the launch, Devendra Fadnavis described the report as a timely initiative that captures the growing impact of fan culture. He noted that platforms like MYFANDOM play a crucial role in connecting Indian audiences with global entertainment while recognising the potential of fandom as a powerful cultural force.
The report positions India at the forefront of what it terms the “Fandom Era,” highlighting a shift from passive consumption to active participation. It underscores how Indian fan communities are not only driving demand for international music tours, streaming content, and collaborations, but are also emerging as contributors to global pop culture narratives.
According to MYFANDOM’s independent study, fan engagement in India is increasingly centred around tangible and experiential touchpoints. Nearly 40% of fans expressed interest in meet-and-greet opportunities with their favourite artists, while 45% identified official merchandise as a key element of their fandom experience. The findings indicate that merchandise, live events, and community-led interactions are becoming central pillars of India’s growing fandom economy.
Commenting on the report, Jinal Ajmera, Co-founder of MYFANDOM, highlighted India’s expanding cultural footprint on the global stage. She described 2025 as the “Year of Fandom,” citing the influx of international artists, festivals, and cross-cultural collaborations as indicators of India’s rising soft power.
Vivek Ajmera, Co-founder, added that the report aims to provide a macro perspective on India’s “Orange Economy,” emphasising MYFANDOM’s broader vision of enabling fans to actively participate in and shape the culture they consume.
The report also features insights from leading voices across the global entertainment ecosystem, including Jay Mehta, Managing Director at Warner Music India; Perry Farrell, Founder of Lollapalooza; Kunal Khambhati; Anjula Acharia, Founder of 5 Junction Record; Poornima Sharma from Netflix India; and Thomas Puliyel, among others.
Adding a human dimension, the report spotlights fan experiences such as Tanuj Govil performing on stage with Chris Martin during a concert in Ahmedabad, and Natasha Mahtani attending an exclusive ‘secret session’ hosted by Taylor Swift.
Positioned as a strategic resource for artists, brands, and industry stakeholders, the India Fandom Report outlines how fandom is reshaping the intersection of entertainment, commerce, and culture. Based on its findings and market projections, MYFANDOM estimates that India’s fandom economy could reach a valuation of $10 billion by 2028, signalling a significant shift in how audiences engage with and influence the entertainment ecosystem.
