Renowned music composer A.R. Rahman has been discharged from a Chennai hospital after being admitted due to dehydration. His family confirmed on Sunday that he is now recovering well at home.
The 58-year-old musician was hospitalized in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to his manager, Senthil Velan. Rahman’s sister, A.R. Reihana, dismissed rumors that he had suffered chest pain, clarifying that his hospitalization was due to dehydration and gastric issues.
Rahman was admitted to a private hospital on Greams Road, Chennai, after reportedly experiencing discomfort. According to India Today, he was admitted around 7:30 am and underwent a series of medical tests, including an ECG and echocardiogram. Hospital sources previously indicated that an angiogram might also be required.
Following news of his hospitalization, Rahman’s son, A.R. Ameen, reassured fans by sharing an update on Instagram Stories regarding his father’s health.
