Lydian Nadhaswaram Launches Debut Symphony Album 'New Beginnings'

Musician and composer Lydian Nadhaswaram has unveiled his debut orchestral album, Symphony No. 1: New Beginnings, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey. The album was launched at Chennai's Music Academy on World Music Day following its recording with the renowned London Symphony Orchestra under acclaimed conductor Matt Dunkley.

The four-movement symphony reflects Lydian's transition from child prodigy and pianist to orchestral composer. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, the project brings together large-scale orchestral arrangements inspired by hope, renewal and new beginnings.

Speaking about the work, Lydian described New Beginnings as a deeply personal project and a new chapter in his career. He also expressed his ambition to explore more independent orchestral music before making a full-fledged foray into film composition.

The composer, who rose to international fame after winning The World's Best in 2019, said collaborating with the London Symphony Orchestra was both a humbling and inspiring experience. He also voiced his hope that more Indian and Asian composers would embrace symphonic music in the future.

Symphony No. 1: New Beginnings is now available on audio streaming platforms, with Lydian also planning live orchestral performances of the work in the future.
