The India leg of Karan Aujla’s P-POP CULTURE World Tour has triggered an unprecedented fan frenzy, with more than 100,000 tickets sold within the first hour of general sales going live, a record-breaking moment for a Punjabi artist.
Aujla’s debut stadium show at New Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is driving the momentum, clocking 40,000 tickets in a single day. Organisers expect the 70,000-capacity venue to sell out within a week, setting the stage for what could become the largest single-artist, single-day concert in the city’s history. The show is on track to surpass earlier crowd records held by Travis Scott (100,000 over two days) and Diljit Dosanjh (70,000 over two days) at the same venue.
The explosive demand comes amid a watershed year for Aujla. Spotify recently listed him among India’s most-streamed Punjabi artists, and he continues to make global breakthroughs , from headlining Rolling Loud as the first Punjabi artist, to drawing over 30,000 fans in Abu Dhabi at the world tour’s kick-off last month.
Tickets for the India run start at Rs 999 and go up to Rs 6 lakh, offering a wide range of access tiers including Fanpit, VIP, VVIP Tables, King of Good Times Lounge and the HSBC Starstruck P-POP Pit, catering to both families and superfans.
Promoted by Team Innovation, the 2026 India tour spans six cities, featuring arena shows in Bengaluru and Indore, Holi-special arena showcases in Mumbai and Pune, and debut stadium concerts in Delhi and Chandigarh. The tour, co-powered by Kingfisher Packaged Water and HSBC, is expected to draw more than 400,000 fans , positioning it as the largest Punjabi pop tour ever staged in India. Organisers say additional shows will be announced in a second phase.
“The response has been nothing short of historic,” said Mohit Bijlani, Founder of Team Innovation. “This tour is more than a concert series , it’s a global movement celebrating Punjabi identity and innovation. After our successful 2024 run and the recent Abu Dhabi show, we’re excited to set a new benchmark in live entertainment.”
The tour marks a major moment in Aujla’s artistic ascent. His 2024 world tour, It Was All A Dream, broke sales records across Canada, the U.K., North America and New Zealand, generating over USD 15 million. Its India leg alone attracted more than 200,000 fans across seven cities and ten sold-out shows. The P-POP CULTURE World Tour builds on that success, scaling it to an even larger global footprint.
