‘Kalyani Remix’ Featuring Shreya Ghoshal Reaches No. 2 On YouTube Global Charts

‘Kalyani Remix’, by ARJN, KDS, RONN and FIFTY4 featuring Shreya Ghoshal, has become the first Malayalam song to enter YouTube’s Global Charts, reaching No. 2 and marking a significant milestone for regional Indian music.

Released by Def Jam Recordings India, a label under Universal Music India, the track’s performance highlights the growing global reach of music rooted in regional languages and its ability to connect with audiences beyond its home market.

The milestone builds on the success of the original ‘Kalyani’, which evolved from an independent Malayalam release into a wider pop-culture phenomenon. The track has crossed 90 million Spotify streams, while the remix has expanded its reach with Shreya Ghoshal’s vocals, introducing a Hindi dimension while retaining its Malayalam identity.

The remix has also recorded strong performance across platforms, reaching No. 1 on YouTube Charts in India and the UAE, No. 3 on India’s Top 200 and No. 1 in the UAE. It also topped Shazam’s Top 200 charts in India and the UAE, as well as the Shazam Viral chart in India.

The official music video, featuring Malayalam actor Saniya Iyappan, has crossed 30 million views on YouTube, with its choreography and visual identity adding to the song’s growing cultural footprint.

The song’s momentum has extended beyond streaming platforms. International hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg shared the ‘Kalyani Remix’ video on Instagram after his son Cordell Broadus shared the track, giving the Malayalam release another international spotlight.

Its choreography has also gained traction online, with creator Neeluvami’s recreation of Saniya Iyappan’s choreography crossing 2 million views. Saniya later acknowledged the viral recreation, while actor Akhila Bhargavan joined the trend with a semi-classical performance to Shreya Ghoshal’s portion of the song.

For ARJN, KDS, RONN and FIFTY4, the remix continues a collaboration that began with ‘Nera’ and was followed by releases including ‘Sheriya’, ‘Chillara Flex’ and ‘Kalyani’. Their sound blends contemporary Kerala influences with Afro-R&B, hip-hop and melodic elements, helping bring a distinct Malayalam musical identity to wider audiences.
