Club FM Kerala Launches ‘Club CULTR’ To Bring Electronic Music To Mainstream Radio

Club FM Kerala has expanded its programming slate with the launch of Club CULTR, its first dedicated electronic music radio show, marking a significant push to bring global electronic sounds to mainstream listeners across the state. The weekly show will air every Saturday from 9 pm to 12 am, spotlighting genres such as deep house, melodic house, indie dance, and afro house—genres that are steadily gaining traction in Kerala’s evolving music ecosystem.

The initiative builds on the success of Kappa CULTR, an on-ground IP known for hosting one of Kerala’s largest electronic music festivals. With Club CULTR, the same team aims to extend that energy onto the airwaves, creating a platform that not only entertains but also nurtures a growing community around underground and contemporary electronic music. The show seeks to bridge the gap between niche club culture and mainstream radio audiences.

Curation for the show is led by Circle of Artists, a prominent DJ collective from Kerala’s independent music scene. Their involvement ensures a mix that remains both globally relevant and rooted in local talent, offering listeners a blend of fresh sounds alongside emerging and established artists from the region.

With this launch, Club FM is reimagining the radio listening experience, turning Saturday nights into immersive musical journeys, whether for listeners on the road, at home, or hosting gatherings. The format reflects a broader industry shift toward genre-led programming, as radio stations look to engage younger, culture-forward audiences.

Commenting on the launch, Mayura Shreyams Kumar, Director – Digital at the Mathrubhumi Group, highlighted the network’s continued focus on innovation and collaboration with artists across Kerala and India. Meanwhile, Jayakrishnan N, General Manager of Club FM, described the show as more than just a new programme, calling it a cultural movement that gives electronic music a stronger, more enduring voice on Kerala’s airwaves.
