“Authentic Music and Real Talent”: Prashant Shetty, Head of Ad Revenue – Broadcast & Digital ZEE Entertainment, on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’s Return

Zee TV’s long-running music reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ is set to return with a new season, bringing a 100-piece live orchestra to the stage as part of its larger vision of celebrating authentic Indian music.

The latest season of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ is being positioned around Zee’s broader theme of “Hindustan Ka Sangeetsthan”, with the broadcaster looking to elevate the scale of the franchise while keeping music and live performance at its core.

Sharing details about the new season on LinkedIn, Prashant Shetty, Head of Ad Revenue – Broadcast & Digital, said the franchise represents Zee’s long-standing commitment to authentic Indian music and talent.

“For nearly three decades, this iconic franchise has stood for authentic music and real talent,” Shetty wrote, adding that the show has allowed Indian music to “recognize its own” across generations.

A key highlight of the new season is the inclusion of a 100-piece live orchestra, which will accompany contestants and bring a larger live-music dimension to the television format. According to Shetty, the orchestra is intended to support a “raw, rooted generation of contestants” while creating a large-scale television and streaming experience.

The move also underlines the growing emphasis on premium production and live musical experiences within television entertainment. Rather than relying solely on digital production and programming formats, the show is using live musicianship and orchestration as a central part of its positioning.

Shetty also acknowledged the role of the show’s advertising partners and sponsors, describing their participation as an investment in a long-standing entertainment franchise.

The new season premieres tonight at 9:30 PM on Zee TV and ZEE5, bringing back one of Indian television’s longest-running music franchises with an expanded musical spectacle.

With its combination of established television equity, new talent and a large live orchestra, the latest edition of ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ reflects Zee TV’s attempt to build a premium, music-led entertainment property while keeping Indian music at the centre of the format.
