Composer and producer Anurag Saikia has signed a global publishing agreement with Warner Chappell Music, marking a significant step for Indian composers operating across film, OTT, and independent music spaces.
The partnership makes Saikia one of the early Indian creators to directly align with the global publishing major following Warner Chappell’s expansion into India through its recently launched local operations.
Known for his emotionally driven compositions across streaming and cinema, Saikia has built a diverse body of work spanning mainstream Bollywood, OTT storytelling, and Assamese folk-inspired projects.
He is widely recognised for composing the score for Panchayat, including the track “Paheli,” as well as “Ishq Hai” from the third season of Mismatched, which emerged as one of 2024’s breakout streaming tracks.
His film credits also include socially themed projects such as Thappad and Article 15, while his 2019 project Project Borgeet showcased his folk-fusion sensibilities through Assamese devotional compositions recorded with an 85-piece Macedonian orchestra and a Shillong-based choir.
Under the new agreement, Warner Chappell Music will represent Saikia’s catalogue and future works across key international markets, potentially opening opportunities across film, television, sync licensing, and mainstream global music collaborations.
The deal follows Saikia’s participation in Warner Chappell Music’s annual songwriting camp in Las Vegas in September 2025, where he collaborated with an international network of songwriters and producers.
Speaking about the partnership, Saikia said, “This partnership is a significant moment not just for me, but for Indian music as a whole. To have my work represented on a global stage by Warner Chappell Music is incredibly exciting. I hope this opens doors for more Indian artists to be heard worldwide.”
Sidhartha Todi, who manages Saikia, described the deal as part of a broader effort to create long-term international pathways for Indian artists.
“This is not just a milestone for Anurag, but a meaningful step toward building a bridge between India and the global music ecosystem. Our vision has always been to enable genuine, long-term international collaborations for Indian artists, rooted in authenticity rather than trend,” Todi said.
Commenting on the signing, David Goldsen said, “Anurag is an extraordinary talent whose music transcends borders. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Warner Chappell family and look forward to building his presence globally.”
