Mumbai Indians’ ‘The MIX’ Concludes Debut Edition With Record Fan Engagement And High-Energy Finale

The inaugural edition of The MIX (A Mumbai Indians Experience), a first-of-its-kind fan experiential festival by the Mumbai Indians and BookMyShow Live’s BrandLabs, wrapped up at full capacity, marking a significant milestone in India’s evolving sports entertainment landscape. The two-day event drew massive crowds while its digital footprint surged, with the festival’s Instagram handle clocking over 193 million video views.

Day 2 opened with a standout moment as Hardik Pandya surprised fans with an appearance at the MI Dugout, posing alongside his statue and interacting with attendees through selfies and signed merchandise. He later joined Kieron Pollard for an exclusive fireside chat, where both shared personal insights, from Pandya’s journey with the franchise to Pollard’s transition from player to coach and his long-standing association with the team.

A Mumbai Indians spokesperson highlighted the intent behind the event, stating that The MIX was designed to foster deeper, more immersive fan connections. Echoing this, Owen Roncon, Chief of Business – Branded IPs at BookMyShow, emphasised the growing demand for experiences that blend sport with music, culture, and community, positioning such formats as the future of fan engagement.

Music remained central to the festival’s identity. Performances by artists like DIVINE, Nucleya, CamelPhat and Anyasa powered the event’s high-energy atmosphere, turning the venue into a large-scale cultural celebration.

Day 1 had earlier set the tone with appearances from key Mumbai Indians players including Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, alongside live performances and interactive fan experiences that extended beyond the cricket field.

Beyond performances, The MIX offered a multi-layered fan experience, from gaming zones and carnival setups to the MI Dugout showcasing trophies and memorabilia. Fashion activations, food zones, and immersive installations further blurred the lines between sport and lifestyle, while sustainability initiatives such as reusable cups and hydration stations were integrated into the event design.

By combining live music, athlete access, and experiential storytelling, The MIX delivered a new template for sports-led fan engagement in India. Its successful debut underscores a broader industry shift toward culturally integrated, experience-first formats, positioning it as a potential blueprint for future sports and entertainment IPs.
