India Habitat Centre Celebrates Holi With Music, Dance And Festive Delicacies

The India Habitat Centre celebrated the spirit of Holi with an evening of music, dance and festive cuisine, bringing together art lovers and visitors for a vibrant cultural gathering in the capital.

Held at the Margosa Lawn of the cultural hub, the event featured a curated programme that blended traditional Holi music with classical dance performances, creating an immersive festive experience for attendees.

The evening began with a musical presentation by singer Pavithra Chari, who performed traditional compositions associated with the festival of colours. She was accompanied by Sagar Gujrati on tabla, Lalit Sisodia on harmonium and Mudassir Khan on sarangi, delivering a performance that captured the celebratory mood of Holi.

The musical segment was followed by an engaging Kathak performance by renowned dancer Vidha Lal and her troupe. The group presented choreographed pieces reflecting the joy and playfulness associated with the festival, culminating in the symbolic “Phoolon ki Holi”, where flowers are used in place of colours to mark the celebration.

Alongside the cultural programme, visitors also enjoyed a specially curated spread of festive delicacies inspired by Holi traditions. Food counters offered a mix of savoury and sweet treats including Amritsari fish, Lahsooni chicken tikka, achari paneer tikka, moong dal chilla, pav bhaji and rajma chawal served in kulhads. Desserts such as jalebi with rabri, khoya gujiya and moong dal laddoos added to the celebratory menu.

The event drew a diverse audience of culture enthusiasts, families and members of the Habitat community, highlighting the centre’s continued role as a prominent venue for arts, music and cultural celebrations in the capital.
