Hyderabad Police Set New Year's Eve Rules: Loud Music Banned After 10 PM

The Rachakonda Police have issued comprehensive guidelines for New Year’s Eve celebrations in Hyderabad, emphasizing safety and orderliness. Organizers of both indoor and outdoor events have been instructed to seek police permission at least 12 days in advance to ensure compliance with the stipulated norms.

According to the guidelines, outdoor sound systems must cease operations by 10 PM, while indoor events can continue until 1 AM. Events hosted at farmhouses, pubs, bars, and restaurants must strictly adhere to these time limits, as well as any regulations governing their standard business practices.

The police have prohibited the use of firecrackers and firearms at any event, citing potential safety risks. Additionally, organizers have been cautioned against overselling tickets or passes to prevent overcrowding and possible law-and-order issues.

In line with the Telangana Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Act, 2013, the police have mandated that event premises, including parking areas, must be equipped with CCTV surveillance to monitor activities. Parking arrangements should be planned according to the expected turnout, with contingency measures in place to meet traffic police requirements.

Special provisions have been made to ensure the safety of women and children attending events. Organizers must create dedicated entryways for women and children and deploy women security guards to assist them. Security personnel have been instructed to conduct themselves with courtesy, particularly toward women. Separate enclosures for bachelors and families are also required to maintain order and prevent unauthorized mingling.

Organizers are held responsible for maintaining decency during performances, ensuring that no acts include obscene gestures, language, or nudity. Any violations could lead to criminal action against the event management.

To address concerns about substance abuse, sniffer dogs will be deployed at various venues to detect drugs or narcotics. Organizers have also been tasked with arranging transportation options, such as drivers or cabs, for attendees who may be under the influence of alcohol, to mitigate the risk of drunk driving.

The police have announced that Special Operation Teams will remain on standby to handle emergencies, while SHE Teams will be present at events to monitor and address instances of harassment. These measures aim to ensure that New Year’s Eve celebrations across Hyderabad remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.
