Ekaki marks a new creative chapter for you. What drew you to composing the original soundtrack for this series?
Ashish narrated the concept to me early on, and I was immediately hooked. It deals with loneliness, identity, and personal battles in such a raw way that I felt music could genuinely deepen the impact. It felt like a story worth scoring.
What was your vision for the soundscape of Ekaki?
I wanted it to be intimate, atmospheric, and emotionally heavy without being loud. The score mirrors the protagonist’s internal journey,I used minimal production, textured vocals, and recurring motifs that subtly bind the narrative together.
How closely did you and Ashish collaborate while building the musical identity of the series?
Very closely. Ashish is incredibly involved and has a clear sense of emotional tone. We exchanged drafts constantly, discussed scenes in detail, and refined the sound until it felt honest. It was a true creative exchange.
You’ve worked on indie pop, Bollywood playback, and now long-form storytelling. How does composing for a narrative series challenge you differently?
In a series, music becomes part of the storytelling fabric. You’re not making a “song for release”; you’re building a world. It pushed me to think more cinematically—about silence, space, emotional cues, and how sound moves with a character’s arc.
On a personal note, where are you musically right now? What’s inspiring you in this phase of your career?
I’m in a phase of exploring deeper, more nuanced sounds. Real instruments, vulnerable vocals, and honest storytelling excite me right now. I’m also experimenting with new genres and collaborations, both in India and internationally. Growth is what drives me.
Fans are curious, what’s next after Ekaki? Any new releases or surprises coming soon?
Yes, plenty! I have new singles lined up, a couple of international collabs I’m really excited about, and another big OST project underway. 2026 is going to be a packed year, and Ekaki is just the beginning.
