What a show! The 30th edition of India's OG rock and metal fest Mahindra I-Rock on November 16th and 17th at Bayview Lawns, Mumbai, was an absolute banger—a powerhouse of hardcore riffs and pulse-racing beats. The weekend saw legendary rock bands rip through the airwaves, electrifying the stage with their raw energy while celebrating pure, unfiltered rock ‘n’ roll.
The fiery lineup featured - The reunion of legends like 13AD and motherjane, along with other OGs like Indus Creed & Friends ft. Girish Pradhan, Sharad Rao, Niveditha Ode Linda, Pratika Gopinath & Sanidhya Das; Girish And The Chronicles; Swarathma & Friends ft. Bhayanak Maut, Parvaaz, Sutej Singh & Sidd Coutto; Skrat. For the metalheads, Bombay Metal Project and BloodyWood unleashed an aural assault. Along with the veterans, the festival featured some new and upcoming bands like About Us, Signal W, Dreadhammer, Long Distances, Pacifist, Peekay, and Salt Rock.
Fans from across the country swarmed together to the ‘Home of the Headbang’, rocked out under the open sky as riff-shredding guitar solos, growling vocals, and thunderous drum intros filled the atmosphere. From some memorable reunions like 13AD and motherjane to the OG founding member, Farhad Wadia, jamming with Indus Creed, the attendees reveled in nostalgia, while indulging in a delectable spread of food and refreshing drinks that revitalized the spirited headbangers.
