Bollywood’s favourite lyricist - composer Vayu signs exclusively with Sony Music India

Composer-Lyricist Vayu Shrivastava known for writing hit songs like "Beat pe Booty" and "Banno tera Swagger", has exclusively signed a contract with Sony Music India. As part of his first work for Sony, Vayu penned down the lyrics for their upcoming artist Akasa's debut single which worked well for the label. He started his career in Mumbai as a promo producer and has also worked in the Television industry as a writer but always dreamt of working in the film industry.

Being in the industry for over about 10 years and having worked on several Bollywood films, I realised I needed to be taken care of. So I met the leaders in the space, who release independent singles as well as work with Bollywood films- Sony Music. After multiple meetings with them, I am now a part of their family- an exclusive Sony Music artist where in the able team will present my work for anyone/everyone who wants to work with me.  I am extremely thrilled , there is a lot of work that I want to do, with different artists and contribute as much as I can.  When I met with Rohan Jha, Head of Pop for Sony Music India and the team, we immediately clicked and he understood my vision. To test the waters, I penned down the lyrics for their extremely talented artist Akasa’s pop debut single and had a great experience. I was given all the liberty and thankfully it did extremely well for the label as well Akasa. I really appreciated the respect the label has for artists and that is what convinced me to associate exclusively with them.  Looking forward, being extremely positive and optimistic. - Vayu on his new association with Sony Music India

As an artist he is inspired by his hometown Bhopal where he was born and brought up. Vayu completed his graduation in Indore and later moved to Mumbai for work. He is also one half of composer duo Tanishk-Vayu known for their compositions in movies like "Tumhari Sullu, Half Girlfriend and Badrinath ki Dulhania. With this new association Vayu is determined to keep his track of delivering Hit songs and doing exciting work.
