The board and members of The Indian Music Industry mourn the loss of Lata Mangeshkarji, fondly known to us as Didi. “She was our Nightingale, our Saraswati, our Didi. Lataji was, is and will always be India’s cultural ambassador. Her versatility that straddled pop, classical, romance, spiritual and folk gave her a global fanbase. Her songs and live performances have travelled across the world, and songs like "Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon', 'Lag Ja Gale etc. have become cultural staples through generations of listeners. She may have passed, but her legacy will live on forever.
