Yamaha Music India Launches New PSR-I Series Designed For Indian Musicians

Yamaha Music India has unveiled its latest India-focused product lineup, the PSR-I Series of portable keyboards, specifically developed to meet the needs of Indian musicians, learners and performers. The new series , comprising the PSR-I610 and PSR-I510 models ,was designed and manufactured with features tailored to Indian musical traditions and play-styles, marking a strategic shift toward localisation in one of the world’s most diverse music markets.

Unlike generic keyboards, the PSR-I Series incorporates enhanced Indian Voices and Styles, dedicated Riyaz learning tools and built-in accompaniment options such as tabla, mridangam and tanpura, enabling both classical and contemporary musicians to practise, perform and create with authenticity. The instruments also include creative tools like loopers and auto chord play, catering to a range of skill levels from beginners to seasoned performers.

Yamaha officials highlighted that the PSR-I Series reflects the company’s long-term commitment to India’s musical culture , a market where traditional and modern genres often intersect. “Music in India is not just an art form , it is a shared emotion and cultural identity,” said Ryoji Maruyama, Unit Head of Sales at Yamaha Music India. “With the new PSR-I Series, made in India for Indian musicians, we aim to make music together with our customers and support the next generation of artists across the country.”

The PSR-I610 is priced at Rs 34,990, while the PSR-I510 is available for Rs 27,990, making advanced music-creation tools more accessible to students, hobbyists and performers nationwide. Both models are expected to appeal to a broad audience as interest in both traditional Indian music and hybrid contemporary styles continues to grow.

Yamaha’s latest launch adds to a series of India-centric initiatives by the company, aligning product development with local musical preferences and education needs, and reinforcing its presence in a market where music education and performance culture remain vibrant.
