BIG FM, one of India’s leading radio networks, has concluded its transformative campaign ‘Bano India Ke Angdaata,’ emerging as the first radio network to champion organ donation on a national level. Engaging over 200,000 individuals, the initiative inspired thousands to pledge their support, spreading a profound message of compassion and hope.
Driving the campaign were BIG FM’s RJs—RJ Vrajesh Hirjee, RJ Akriti, RJ Sangram, RJ Nayana, RJ Uday, RJ Juhie, RJ Firoz, RJ Rashi, RJ Hiren, RJ Bhawana, RJ Shalini, and RJ Nevesh—who personally pledged to become organ donors, setting an inspiring example for listeners. Their efforts were amplified by Bollywood stars including Rajkummar Rao, Kartik Aaryan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sunny Leone, Raveena Tandon, Manisha Koirala, and Sonu Sood. Industry icons like Farah Khan, Palak Muchhal, Akriti Kakar, and entrepreneur Ankur Warikoo also lent their voices, significantly expanding the campaign’s reach.
The campaign also garnered support from prominent leaders such as Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare; Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant; Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj; and Chirag Paswan, Minister of Food Processing Industries. Social influencers like Acharya Balkrishna Ji of Patanjali, Padma Shri Deepa Malik, and Shaina NC further strengthened the initiative.
In collaboration with the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), the campaign emphasized the life-saving impact of organ donation. Anil Kumar, Director of NOTTO, highlighted its critical role in transforming lives.
Athletes like Anil Srivatsa, a double gold medalist at the World Transplant Games, and Sunayana Singh, CEO of ORGAN India, lent their voices to the movement. Contributions from Dr. Vishal Chadha of Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti and Advocate Prashant Ajmera added further depth to the campaign, while state-level SOTTO directors ensured regional representation and impact.
Sunil Kumaran, COO of BIG FM, expressed his pride in the initiative: “At BIG FM, we are proud to lead the cause of organ donation on a national scale, fostering meaningful conversations. This campaign is more than awareness—it’s about action. The overwhelming response reaffirms our commitment to driving positive change.”
The campaign concluded with impactful initiatives that deeply resonated with audiences. The emotional anthem ‘Tu Farishta,’ composed and sung by Aaman Trikha, extended the campaign’s reach and is now available on major music platforms. Heartfelt interviews with donor families and recipients highlighted the transformative power of organ donation, while live studio setups in metro trains across Lucknow, Delhi, and Mumbai brought the campaign closer to the public.
