Kakao Entertainment Partners With Atlantic Music Group To Expand K-Pop Globally

Kakao Entertainment has entered into a strategic partnership with Atlantic Music Group (AMG), a key music division of Warner Music Group, to accelerate the global growth of K-pop artists and develop new opportunities for Korean music IP in international markets.

The partnership will cover the entire music ecosystem, from artist development and music production to global distribution, marketing, promotion and fan engagement. Unlike a traditional overseas distribution arrangement, the two companies plan to jointly develop global strategies for artists from the early stages of their international expansion.

From Music Production to Global Promotion

Under the partnership, Kakao Entertainment and AMG will work together on music production initiatives including songwriting camps and collaborations. The companies will also explore distribution through global streaming platforms and social media, alongside digital marketing and promotional activities across international markets.

The collaboration will extend to local television and radio appearances as well as fan communication, allowing artists to build stronger connections with audiences outside South Korea.

A key focus will be creating artist-specific strategies based on their musical identity, career stage and competitiveness in international markets.

Combining K-Pop Expertise With Global Networks

Kakao Entertainment brings capabilities across music IP planning and production, distribution, artist management, marketing and fandom communication. AMG, meanwhile, will contribute its A&R expertise, global marketing and promotional capabilities, along with its international industry network.

Atlantic Music Group includes Atlantic Records, 10K Projects and 300 Entertainment. Atlantic Records has worked with global artists including Bruno Mars, Coldplay, Charlie Puth and Charli XCX. The label was also involved in the global success of Rosé and Bruno Mars’ collaboration ‘APT.’

The companies are also looking at opportunities for new label partnerships that can support K-pop's expansion across global markets.

A Broader Global Strategy for K-Pop

For Kakao Entertainment, the partnership represents another step in its broader strategy to strengthen its presence in international music markets. The company has been expanding its global network through partnerships and distribution initiatives, with North America remaining a key focus.

By combining Kakao Entertainment’s K-pop business infrastructure with AMG’s international A&R and promotional network, the two companies aim to identify and develop artists and music IP with global potential.

The partnership also reflects the evolving nature of K-pop’s international expansion, where globalisation is increasingly being built into the creative, production and marketing process rather than treated as a post-release strategy.

Both companies said they aim to broaden K-pop artists’ connections with global fandoms and further strengthen the genre’s international influence.
