Subhi Unveils Soulful Love Ballad ‘Tehtul-e-Ishq’ With Sikander Khan

Rising singer-songwriter Subhi, hailing from Delhi, unveils her latest single, “Tehtul-e-Ishq”, following her collaboration with global icons DJ Khaled and Cardi B on the hit track Higher Love. This time, she teams up with Rajasthani folk artist Sikander Khan for a soulful fusion of contemporary and traditional sounds. The song is part of DESI TRILL’s upcoming EP, Brown is Everywhere Volume 2, a project dedicated to amplifying South Asian voices and blending diverse musical influences on the global stage.

A heartfelt love ballad, “Tehtul-e-Ishq” explores the depth of emotions through the richness of Urdu poetry. The title, meaning “Flow of Love”, is inspired by the word Tehtul, which signifies movement and fluidity. The song beautifully encapsulates the unpredictability of love, as the protagonist embraces every twist and turn, stating, "You embody the flow of love for me."

The music video, shot in Jodhpur, is a visual spectacle filled with vibrant colors, mesmerizing choreography, and stunning cinematography. Each frame reflects the emotional highs and lows of love, creating a whimsical yet deeply emotional journey. Subhi’s expressive performance brings the narrative to life, making the video an immersive experience for both longtime fans and new listeners.

One of Subhi’s favorite lines from the song, “Tere Ishq Da Rang Malke, Umrade Kaagaz Te. Main Turdi jaavan ni, yaaran ve,” translates to “I take the colors of your love and fill the blank sheet of my life with them, and I’ll keep wandering with them.” This powerful imagery of love’s transformative nature makes Tehtul-e-Ishq a deeply resonant addition to her musical repertoire, capturing the exhilarating yet unpredictable journey of love.
