London’s Wireless Festival is facing mounting pressure after key sponsors pulled out following criticism over Kanye West’s headline booking.
Global brands including Pepsi and Diageo have withdrawn their sponsorship from the 2026 edition of the festival, which is set to take place in July at London’s Finsbury Park. The exits come in the wake of backlash surrounding West’s past antisemitic remarks and controversial public statements.
The controversy escalated after UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the booking as “deeply concerning,” citing the artist’s history of antisemitic rhetoric and the broader responsibility to combat hate speech.
West, who is slated to headline all three nights of the festival, has faced sustained criticism in recent years for statements including praise for Adolf Hitler and the promotion of Nazi imagery, remarks that have led to severed brand partnerships and industry backlash.
Despite a public apology earlier this year, pressure continues to mount from political leaders and community groups, with some calling for further action, including potential restrictions on the artist’s entry into the UK. Festival organisers have yet to issue an official response.
The situation highlights the growing intersection of artist conduct, brand risk, and live event economics, as sponsors increasingly distance themselves from controversies that could impact public perception.
