Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has revealed that two of its top leaders, General Counsel Ashok Nambissan and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Nitin Nadkarni, will retire on August 31, 2024. Both executives have played pivotal roles in SPNI’s success.
Nitin Nadkarni: A Financial Powerhouse
Since joining SPNI in 2005, Nitin Nadkarni has been a cornerstone of the company’s leadership team. He has overseen the financial mandate and spearheaded strategic financial initiatives worldwide. In his roles as CFO, Head of Broadcast Operations and Network Engineering (BONE), and Head of Commercial, Nadkarni has optimized SPNI's commercial operations, driving efficiency and profitability through innovative strategies and meticulous management. His business acumen and analytical prowess have been crucial in shaping SPNI’s financial growth strategy. Nadkarni has also led SPNI’s sustainability efforts, implementing initiatives aimed at achieving a zero environmental footprint by 2050.
With more than four decades of experience in the financial sector, Nadkarni has brought extensive expertise from various industries, including engineering, specialty chemicals, and media & entertainment. His deep industry knowledge has significantly influenced SPNI’s strategies and operations, laying a solid foundation for the company’s future. Throughout his tenure, Nadkarni has fortified SPNI's financial resilience by establishing robust internal controls and enhancing financial reporting systems. His unwavering commitment to transparency and accountability has set high standards within the organization, ensuring financial stability and growth.

He has overseen Corporate Relations, Legal and Regulatory Affairs, and Standards & Practices for SPNI’s businesses in India. As the company’s Ombudsperson, Nambissan has demonstrated exemplary dedication to integrity and ethical conduct. His leadership has successfully navigated SPNI through complex legal challenges, safeguarding the company's interests and fostering a culture of compliance. Notably, he played a crucial role in significant achievements such as renegotiating IPL rights and acquiring Ten Sports. His strategic insights and legal expertise have consistently advanced the organization.
