A constellation of celebrities from cinema, politics and culture gathered at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) on February 27 to witness the spectacular staging of Krishna – Radha Se Ranbhumi Tak. The theatrical production, conceptualised by Manoj Muntashir, concluded its Mumbai run with consecutive houseful shows, underlining its wide-ranging appeal across generations.
The evening saw the presence of Varun Dhawan, Shilpa Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Gaur Gopal Das, Ravi Dubey, Sargun Mehta, Nitin Mukesh, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ashok Pandit, Anu Malik, Remo D’Souza, Terrence Lewis, Jasmin Bhasin, Bharti Singh, Kripashankar Singh and Maharashtra’s Minister of Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar, among several other distinguished guests.
Directed by acclaimed choreographer Punit J Pathak and produced by Saregama Live and Neelam Muntashir, the production traced the many dimensions of Lord Krishna’s journey, from the tenderness of Radha’s love to the intensity of the battlefield. Blending evocative narration with immersive stagecraft and soul-stirring music, the play presented Krishna as a lover, philosopher and master strategist navigating prem, neeti aur yudh.
Reflecting on the show’s success, Manoj Muntashir said sharing Lord Krishna’s story on such a grand scale had been deeply special, adding that witnessing packed auditoriums and emotional audience reactions reaffirmed the purpose behind creating the production.
Siddharth Anand Kumar, Executive Vice President – Films, Series and Events at Saregama Live, described the show as more than a theatrical performance, calling it an emotional and cultural celebration mounted with cinematic grandeur. He noted that the overwhelming Mumbai response reinforced the growing demand for meaningful storytelling presented at scale.
Following its successful Mumbai run, Krishna – Radha Se Ranbhumi Tak will now travel to Pune, where it will be staged at Buntara Bhavan from March 20 to 22.
