Sanjeev Chilukuri Moves On From JioSaavn After Shaping Telugu Music Curation

Sanjeev Chilukuri has announced his departure from JioSaavn, marking the end of a significant chapter in his career focused on Telugu music curation and regional music discovery.

Taking to LinkedIn, Chilukuri reflected on his journey from being a young Telugu music listener in Hyderabad to becoming a curator responsible for shaping how audiences across India discovered Telugu music.

“From streaming songs as a boy to shaping what an entire country hears,” Chilukuri wrote, describing his journey at JioSaavn as one he leaves with a “full heart.”

Chilukuri recalled how his association with the platform allowed him to curate Telugu music playlists that travelled beyond the state and contributed to the wider discovery and appreciation of music from the region.

Chilukuri described being part of the team that helped turn regional tracks into national moments as one of the greatest honours of his career. He also thanked his managers, teammates, label partners and artists for trusting his musical instincts, challenging his thinking and helping him evolve “from a fan into a curator.”

The outgoing JioSaavn team member also acknowledged his colleagues, including Neetu Puri, Shrikant Nair, Rohan Indulkar, Kaushik Ghosh, Lakshmi Narayanan, Jasleen Kaur, Caridade Fernandes, Ba Sukumar, Bangalore Amrita and Talukder.

Looking ahead, Chilukuri said he carries with him the belief that Telugu music belongs to every listener who has fallen in love with a melody in the language.

“As I turn the page, I carry with me the belief that Telugu music belongs to every ear that’s ever fallen in love with a melody in our language,” he wrote.

Chilukuri  concluded his post by signalling his next chapter with the same passion for music and curation, adding that there are “many more playlists to come.”
