Allahbadia urged brands and creators to look beyond reach and focus on lasting influence
Podcaster, entrepreneur and content creator Ranveer Allahbadia shared his perspective on the evolving creator economy, meaningful conversations and the changing relationship between creators and audiences at IdeaBaz.
Speaking about the biggest shift taking place in India’s creator economy, Allahbadia pointed to the growing importance of trust and deeper audience relationships over follower counts.
“The biggest shift is that the creator economy is moving from followers to trust. Audiences today are much more aware and discerning. They don’t just want to consume content; they want to connect with the person behind it and believe in what that person stands for,” Allahbadia said.
Known for building his career around long-form conversations, Allahbadia also reflected on what makes an interaction meaningful in an era dominated by short-form videos and rapidly changing attention spans.
“A genuinely meaningful conversation is one where both people are willing to be vulnerable, curious and honest. Short-form content can grab attention, but a real conversation can change the way someone thinks. That depth will always have value,” he said.
On the challenge of remaining relevant while staying authentic, Allahbadia said creators need to evolve without losing sight of their individual identity.
“Relevance comes from evolving, but authenticity comes from knowing who you are. I think creators have to experiment and adapt to the changing internet, but they should never create something simply because they think the algorithm wants it. Your audience eventually knows when something is genuine and when it isn’t.”
Allahbadia further highlighted the need for brands and creators to look beyond immediate reach when building partnerships and influence.
“Brands and creators need to understand that lasting influence isn’t built overnight. Reach is a number, but influence is the ability to shape a thought, start a conversation or make someone take action. The strongest partnerships happen when there is a genuine alignment between the creator, the brand and the audience.”
Looking ahead to his conversation at IdeaBaz, Allahbadia said he hoped audiences would leave with a greater understanding of the responsibility that comes with having a platform.
“If there is one idea I want people to take away, it is that having an audience is a responsibility. Whether you have a hundred followers or a hundred million, what you put into the world can influence someone. The goal should be to use that influence meaningfully.”
Allahbadia has emerged as one of India’s prominent voices in the digital content and podcasting space, building his platform around conversations spanning entrepreneurship, entertainment, wellness, personal growth and popular culture. His presence at IdeaBaz comes at a time when India’s creator economy is increasingly moving beyond content creation into communities, businesses, brand partnerships and cultural influence.
