Priyanka Chopra Reflects On Brief Music Career, Says She Wasn’t ‘Made for It’

Global star Priyanka Chopra has reflected on her short-lived music career, admitting that she quickly realised the industry wasn’t the right fit for her despite early attempts to break into the global pop scene.

The actor, who released singles such as In My City and Exotic in the early 2010s, said the demanding lifestyle of professional musicians made her reconsider pursuing music long-term. She noted that touring schedules and the intense routine of constant travel and performances gave her a new appreciation for artists who sustain careers on the road.

Chopra explained that she soon recognised her strengths lay in acting, prompting her to step back from music and refocus on her primary career in film and television. “I quickly realised that I wasn’t made for it and should go back to my day job of acting,” she said while reflecting on the experience.

Despite stepping away from the industry, Chopra has often expressed admiration for musicians and the discipline required to maintain a touring career. Her brief stint in music, she said, ultimately gave her a deeper respect for performers who thrive in that demanding environment.
