Pocket FM Appoints Former Meta AI Scientist Vasu Sharma As Head Of AI

Audio storytelling platform Pocket FM has appointed former Meta AI scientist Vasu Sharma as its new Head of AI, marking a significant leadership move as the company accelerates its global expansion and deepens its focus on AI-led content innovation.

In his new role, Sharma will report to Prateek Dixit, co-founder of Pocket FM, and will lead the company’s AI research and applied innovation efforts. His mandate spans narrative generation, production intelligence, and large-scale localisation,key areas as Pocket FM scales its original audio IP across international markets.

Sharma will also be responsible for advancing Pocket FM’s proprietary large language models and overseeing the evolution of its AI Copilot, a tool widely used by writers on the platform. The AI Copilot is designed to support faster production cycles, streamline content workflows, and improve the adaptability of stories across languages and regions.

Pocket FM has been increasingly positioning AI as a core enabler of its creator ecosystem, helping writers and production teams balance scale with storytelling consistency. With a growing global audience and an expanding slate of audio series, the company sees AI as critical to meeting demand while maintaining narrative quality.

Prior to joining Pocket FM, Sharma worked as an AI scientist at Meta, where he focused on building and scaling advanced AI systems. His transition to Pocket FM reflects a broader trend of deep-tech talent moving into consumer media and creator-economy platforms, where AI is reshaping how content is conceived, produced and distributed.

The appointment comes at a time when Pocket FM is strengthening its leadership bench to support international growth, particularly in markets where localisation and high-volume content production are essential to audience engagement.
