Music Broadcast Limited, which operates Radio City, reported a turnaround in its financial performance for the second quarter of FY27, posting a net profit of ₹6.68 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with a net loss of Rs 6.88 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The company’s revenue from operations rose 8.2% year-on-year to Rs 40.96 crore, up from Rs 37.84 crore in Q2 FY26, according to the reported financial results.
The return to profitability comes amid ongoing challenges in the radio broadcasting sector, including pressure on advertising revenues and the need to adapt to changing advertiser preferences. Music Broadcast has been pursuing cost optimisation measures and exploring opportunities beyond traditional radio advertising to strengthen its financial performance.
In FY26, the company reported a net loss of Rs 53.32 crore, while revenue from operations declined 25.61% year-on-year to Rs 174.43 crore. Its annual performance was affected by a challenging advertising environment and an impairment charge on non-financial assets.
The latest quarterly results mark a shift from the year-ago period, when Music Broadcast reported a loss. Revenue growth alongside the return to profitability will remain key indicators as the company works to improve operational performance and navigate changes in the media and advertising landscape.
Music Broadcast is scheduled to discuss its Q2 FY27 financial performance during an earnings conference call on October 27, 2026, with CEO Abraham Thomas and CFO Rajiv Shah.
